Finally, I arrived in Korea. I spent 18 hours on the plane from Mexico to the United States and to Incheon Airport. It took 3 hours from Mexico to the United States and 15 hours from the United States to Korea. It was very difficult to fly for such a long time in economy class. Later on, when I make a lot of money and take a long flight, I want to use business class.

 

I boarded a plane with Korean Air, the representative airline of Korea. The flight attendants' service was good and the plane was orderly. Even the food on the flight was good enough. When I arrived in Korea, I had to speak in Korean alone, so I watched a Korean movie on the plane. I'm still not good at listening to Korean, so I watched it with Spanish subtitles.

 

After watching two movies, I fell asleep and when I woke up, there was an announcement that I would arrive at Incheon International Airport. I landed and went through immigration safely and found my luggage. I exchanged money in advance at a Mexican bank, so I can go straight to the dormitory.

 

 

 

 

After picking up my luggage, I really feel like I have arrived in Korea. There are many people at Incheon Airport and the facilities are good and clean. Most of them are Asians, so I am both surprised and worried.

 

By the way, the weather is much colder than I thought. Looking at my phone, it's minus 5 degrees. Korea has four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter, and it's really cold because it's winter until the end of February. Now I have to use public transportation from the airport to the dormitory.

 

 

I can take a taxi, bus, or subway from Incheon Airport to Seoul. There is well-marked information so that foreigners can easily use public transportation. Since I'm alone, taxis will be too expensive and I don't know the bus routes, so I decided to take the subway.

 

Before coming to Korea, I looked it up on the internet and it is said that it is convenient for foreigners to buy a transportation card called T-money when using public transportation in Korea. The T-money card can be used on buses, subways, and taxis, and can also be used in convenience stores and cafes.

 

 

 

 

T-money can also be made and charged at Incheon International Airport. I think it's really convenient. First, I bought T-money, charged 30,000 won, and then went to take the subway. I am already taking the subway to Seoul for the first time in Korea. It takes about an hour to get to Seoul.

 

I see many other foreigners besides me on the subway. There are people who came to travel, and I think there are people who came to study at university like me. On the Korean subway, announcements are made before arriving at the station. It doesn't speak Spanish, but it tells you in Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese which station you are arriving at.

 

Now I got off the subway. There were a lot of people on the subway and I was nervous, but I arrived safely. It's close from the subway station to the dormitory, so I went there looking at the Google map that had been marked in advance.

 

I feel relieved now that I arrived at the dormitory safely. There was a guide, so I first listened to the explanation, then briefly unpacked and organized. After organizing, I was hungry and wanted to take a quick look around the university, so I went out.
